Screenprint Art Specifications

Our art folks can do just about anything but you need to keep a few things in mind when submitting an idea for artwork or sending us your own art in an electronic format in order to avoid possible art charges. (Art time is billed at $35 per hour) The art department works with both Macintosh and Windows programs. Give us a call if you have any questions that are not covered here. If your are sending art to be embroidered, please click here for instructions.

If you are sending a logo for a business and you have had things like business cards, letterhead or brochures printed, your logo is more than likely available from your marketing people or printer in one of the formats listed here. I’m sure they would be glad to provide it to you. Send to dan@shirts101.com.

If you are sending hand drawn art please make it black and white outlines only and provide a second color version for reference. Mail us the original art or scanned black and white line art at 300dpi. Depending on the complexity of your project, art fees may apply.

Adobe Illustrator (Mac) When sending an illustrator file you must convert all text to outlines so avoid substituting a typeface if we don’t have the one you used. Images or photos placed into an Illustrator file may not be usable depending on original resolution.

Corel Draw (Windows) When sending a Corel Draw file you must convert all text to outlines so avoid substituting a typeface if we don’t have the one you used. Images or photos placed into an Illustrator file may not be usable depending on original resolution.

Microsoft Publisher or Word Sorry, can’t use them as ready-for-print documents. We can however open and view the file and can use it as a basis for recreating the artwork from scratch. In this case, artwork charges may apply. CALL US FIRST If you are sitting down to create your own art and are not sure about any the instructions laid out above, please call us at. We don’t want you to waste your time and work if your finished product does not meet these specifications. Contact us by email at dan@shirts101.com to clarify any questions you might have about sending art.

Your Proof Once we have your art and order we will send you a proof to examine. It is your responsibility to proof it carefully for shirt color, imprint details, spelling and location. We will not proceed to production without your final approval. We here at Shirts101 look forward to working with you and we are sure that once we work for you you’ll be a friend for life. Remember: The difficult we do routinely. The impossible takes us a little more time.
